Strategic AI & Technology Leadership
Helping ambitious founders navigate the critical path from Seed to Series B. Enterprise GTM strategy, technical architecture, and team building from someone who's done it.
I'm Alex Housley. I've been founding and building technology companies since 2003, focusing on mobile, data, and machine learning. In 2014, I founded Seldon Technologies — the first open-source MLOps platform built on Kubernetes — and led it through Series B, raising over $30M from leading VCs and angel investors.
Under my leadership as CEO and CPTO, Seldon powered model deployments for global industry leaders across automotive, banking, insurance, life sciences, big tech, and defence — deploying over 10 million models in production. Seldon was part of the 2016 Barclays Accelerator, powered by Techstars, recognised on the CB Insights AI 100, and won industry awards including CogX and the IET E&T Innovation Award. I was named Emerging Entrepreneur at the Enterprise Awards.
Beyond Seldon, I serve as Chair of the AI Advisory Board at OpenUK and have been a Guest Advisor to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on AI since 2017, helping shape UK AI policy.
My advisory work is focused on founders — helping them level up and move faster. I'm a mentor and trusted advisor, particularly for first-time founders navigating unfamiliar territory. I also work with VCs to support their portfolio companies through critical growth phases.
Two decades of building includes plenty of hard lessons learned. There's real value in working with someone who has lived through the challenges of scaling a tech company, managed through difficult market conditions, and knows where the pitfalls are before you hit them.
Building cohesive product and engineering functions. Scaling R&D, aligning roadmap with GTM for better PMF, and leveraging AI-native development workflows. Open source strategy, release management, and prioritisation.
Building enterprise sales motion and recruiting aligned leadership. Customer success for upsell and expansion. Balancing customer needs with roadmap without overfitting to your biggest accounts. Pricing and packaging strategy.
Building exec and leadership teams through growth. Aligning roles and responsibilities, reporting lines and communication. Managing change and building cohesion.
Fundraising readiness and strategy to build leverage, momentum and tension in the process. Investor relationships and warm intros. Pitch deck, narrative and market thesis. Data room and due diligence prep.
